Auditions
EMMA
Adapted and Directed by
Emily Tarry-Wright and Hayley Blundel
Based on the novel by Jane Austen
Emma is a fun, lighthearted satire about life in a small town in rural Regency England. There are lots of character pieces to sink your teeth into, but also plenty of heartfelt moments that we can't wait to see brought to life on the stage. It's also a perfect chance to bring out that comedic timing! Each character big or small has a presence in the story.
We are excited to announce that we will be hosting two casting sessions on:
Wednesday 18th and Tuesday 24th of March 2026 at 8pm in the United Reform Church, East Dulwich.
Please do come along to one or the other whether you know everything about Austen there is to know, or if you've never even heard of Emma.
(You can attend a casting reading without paying to join the Players first, but would obviously have to join if cast!)
The most important thing for us when casting a play is that we tell a great story and that all our cast enjoy being part of it. We aim to be fully inclusive, casting on how we feel actors show the character, and not on appearance or accent. We encourage people of all backgrounds to audition for the parts they would most enjoy, and not just those they feel they are 'right' for.
Performance Dates:
18th & 19th July 2026 (afternoon & early eve)
25th & 26th July 2026 (as above)
